CONSEJO INTERNACIONAL DE BUENA VECINDAD

                         ¿QUE ES EL CIBV?

El CONSEJO INTERNACIONAL DE BUENA VECINDAD es una Organización sin fines de lucro fundada en 1954 por hombres de empresa Norteamericános y Mexicanos. Su Oficina Central está localizada en Monterrey, México. El Objetivo de la asociación es promover La Buena Vecindad y amistad entre los países del Hemisferio Occidental. Contamos con 24 Secciones en México y Estados Unidos.

Las Secciones tienen actividades para intercambios sociales, culturales, de jovenes y educacionales y fomentan actividades civiles. Muchas amistades se formaron e incrementaron en muchos años en las reuniónes a lo largo de las fronteras del Río Bravo/Rio Grande. El CIVB organiza dos Convenciones anualmente, La Convencion de Primavera en México a finales de Mayo y La convencion de Otoño en Octubre. En la convencion los miembros de los dos países se reunen en los Comités Permanentes, Juntas de Directores Internacionales, visitan puntos de interés de la ciudad sede, disfrutan de comidas regionales y atractivos festejos en reuniones formales.

Desde 1954, a elaborado ponencias sobre asuntos fronterizos como simplificación de trámites de inmigración. Construyó y opera Horfanatorios. Tiene becas para estudiar Inglés en México y para estudiar español en E.U. La Fundación del CIBV beca a estudiantes en Universidades además de proporcionar ayuda en desastres naturales. INTERNATIONAL GOOD NEIGHBOR COUNCIL

                       WHAT IS IGNC?

INTERNATIONAL GOOD NEIGHBOR COUNCIL is a non-profit organization founded in 1954 by prominent Mexican an American businessmen. Its head office is located in Monterrey, Mexico. The objective of the association is to promote the principle of Good Neighbor and friendship between countries of the Western Hemisphere. They are currently a total of 24 active Chapters in the United States and Mexico.

The Chapters cooperates in activities that increase social, cultural, youth, and educational exchanges, and support the principles of democracy based on constitutional authority. Many friendship of ten, twenty, and more years standing have developed across the Rio Bravo/Rio Grande border between members of IGNC.

IGNC-CIBV sponsors two annual Conventions. The Spring Convention is held in late May in Mexico; the Fall Convention is held in the United States in October. At the Convention, members from both countries attend Permanent Committees meetings, tour points of interest, enjoy regional food and entertainment, and a formal dance.

Since 1954, IGNC-CIBV has addressed issues such as simplification of border crossing procedures, the construction and operation of child and maternal healts centers in the Rio Grande Valley, the teaching of English in Mexican schools an Spanish in U.S. schools, donate wheel chairs.The non-profit Foundation of IGNC-CIBV assist students to pursue college education and provides assistance in case of natural disaster.

Individual Chapters have sponsored projects such as donation of an ambulance to a Sister City in Mexico, and significal finantial contributions to the Tarahumara Indial health clinic in Chihuahua. IGNC of Austin sponsors "Casa de Nazareth" an orphanage located in Piedras Negras/Eagle Pass Chapter.

Anyone who wants to learn about and have contact with nations of the Americas will need to join IGNC. In particular, IGNC will help members in the United States and Mexico appreciate and understand each other.
